Cleveland recalls pitcher T.J. House of Picayune to the Indians

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

23-year-old T.J. House was an outstanding high school pitcher for the Picayune Maroon Tide.  During his senior season in 2008.  He posted a 7-2 record with a 0.89 earned run average with 99 strikeouts.

He signed with Tulane but opted for major league baseball after being drafted in the 16th round  by Cleveland in the 2009 draft.

On Monday House was poised to make his major league debut.  He said, "It kind of floored me a little bit."

He will pitch out of the bullpen.  House said, "I'm just going to soak it up and enjoy it."

Family and friends are expect to arrive in Baltimore Tuesday morning where the Indians are playing.
