Looking through vehicles and seeing if they were unlocked, that's what a witness told police a man was doing near the Ocean Springs Yacht Club on Sunday.

That man was later identified as 32-year-old David John Lawrence of Biloxi, according to Ocean Springs police Detective Capt. William Jackson.

Jackson said the man wasn't just looking inside the vehicles he allegedly opened a few stealing several
cell phones, a make-up bag and a tote bag.

Once Ocean Springs patrol officer Phillip Pearson arrived at the scene, witnesses said the suspect fled in a silver, 2003 Acura, RSX.

Both officer Pearson and officer Torey Hargrow stopped Lawrence on the Biloxi Bay Bridge.

Lawrence was arrested and charged with two counts of Auto Burglary with more charges pending,
he is currently in the City of Ocean Springs Jail awaiting appearance before Judge Mestayer.
