11th Annual Scrapin' the Coast ends on high note

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The 11th Annual Scrapin' the Coast wrapped up Sunday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.

Car enthusiasts from parts of Florida to Texas and beyond drove out to the event touted as the wildest show on the coast. Crowds circled around the event's many competitions watching low riders with hydraulic suspension systems change height at the flip of a switch.

Scrapin' the Coast organizer Greg Miller says he doesn't have an exact count on attendance, but says there were more than 2,000 people.

"I fill great about it [Scrapin' the Coast]. It's been a wonderful event this year. A lot of support from a lot of different people. They come from everywhere so with the help from all the sponsors they really put on a great show," Miller explained with a smile.

Throughout the grounds of the coliseum there were cars, trucks and motorcycles turned into works of art with one of a kind paint jobs and modified sound and lighting systems.

"There are different things to see for everybody you got low riders, street rods, motorcycles hotrods, there was a little bit of something for everyone. So for people to come out and see it they are gonna see things they maybe haven't seen on a daily base. There was even a $250,000 Lamborghini, " Miller said.

Miller says he hopes to have get even more sponsors for next year's event.
