BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Some citizens don't understand how fireworks can be sold within city limits, but are prohibited from being used in city limits.
Chief Administrative officer for Biloxi, David Nichols, says there was a special exception in the city ordinance that was meant to allow people to have fireworks displays or shows within the city, but that ordinance was not clear. Now that the discrepancy has been revealed he says they will look into it.
"Once we found out there was a special exception to the ordinance. We are going to change the ordinance to not allow that anytime in the future," said Nichols.
The stand is located at the intersection of Popps Ferry and Cedar Lake Roads in Biloxi. They have been operating since Wednesday and will continue to operate until July 5.
