HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - After days of searching the Harrison County Sheriff's Department has captured a fugitive described by a witness as "a skinny Santa." Deputies said a tip lead to the capture of Victor Caskey, 57, on Friday.
On Wednesday morning, a deputy stopped Caskey on Landon Lake Boulevard of Canal Road in Gulfport. Caskey took off in a wooded area and disappeared. Officials later learned he is wanted out of Rowan County, Florida for trafficking a controlled substance.
After Caskey's photo was shown through media outlets including WLOX-TV, deputies said they received an antonymous tip that Caskey was at a house on Robin Drive in Gulfport. When law enforcement arrived, Caskey fled the house on foot. Deputies said after a short foot chase by the K-9 unit, Caskey was apprehended.
Harrison County officials said Caskey is being held at the jail pending positive identification. If his identity is verified, officials said he will be charged in this jurisdiction with resisting arrest by flight.
