ADAMS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One Natchez man is behind bars and an arrest warrant has been issued for another after a metro agent K-9 Deputy discovered drugs in the suspects' vehicles.

Adams County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson Courtney Taylor says metro agents were patrolling the area of Watts Avenue and Edgin Street Wednesday morning when they spotted two men on the street corner.

Before the agents could exit their vehicles, the two men jumped up and removed several items from their pockets and threw the contents into two vehicles parked on the street before running into the woods, according to Taylor. When agents approached the vehicles they saw what appeared to be crack cocaine. The agents called in a K-9 Deputy who alerted on both vehicles.

A total of ¼ ounce of powder and crack cocaine was recovered from the two vehicles. Kendrick Lee Thomas, 20, of Natchez, was arrested for possession of cocaine. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Keimon Brice, 37, of Natchez, who was on probation and out on bond for a previous drug charge, adds Taylor. This will be Brice's eleventh arrest in Adams County.

Both vehicles were impounded by Adams County Sheriff's deputies and will be held pending further investigation.
