OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - The man accused of a hit and run in Ocean Springs Sunday was arrested Wednesday, according to Ocean Springs Detective Capt. William Jackson.
Jackson said 44-year-old Chad Michael Brewster was found at the McDonald's parking lot in St. Martin.
Brewster is accused of injuring his girlfriend. He's also accused of dragging her with his silver, Ford F-150, crew cab. Jackson said the fight started over the victim's cell phone.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the incident. Prior to his capture, Ocean Springs police had a warrant out for his arrest for felony domestic violence.
Brewster is currently in the City of Ocean Springs Jail awaiting his initial appearance before Judge Matthew Mestayer.
Jackson said, Brewster has an active warrant out of Cape Coral, FL for misdemeanor battery touch or strike.
"Because he was arrested outside of the state of FL, authorities there will not extradite him," Jackson said. "It all depends on the severity of the crime."
