Chances are, anyone who fishes along the Mississippi Coast knows the Wilson family. Dick Wilson and his sons are recreational and competitive fisherman.

Dick's father taught him how to fish when he was a young boy and he has passed his love of fishing on to his sons.

"It was a joy. Like me, my boys started at 3-years-old," Wilson said.

You can read all about it in the book Stories from Tricky Dick's Tackle Box.

Wilson, an avid fisherman has written many stories about his experiences on the water. Some of the best ones were selected for the book. No exaggerated tales or embellished adventures, right?

"A fishing story always has a little added to it. The fish are little bigger, they are more of them and it's always fun," joked Wilson.

This retired Air Force fighter pilot also put a lot of his whimsical sketches in the book along with an array of family photos.

Dick Wilson loves living and playing on the water. Dick and his wife, Jackie, lost a home on back bay during Katrina. It meant so much to them to rebuild here.

Dick said it was Jackie who actually took all of Dick's fishing stories and put them together for the book.

"She said, 'Go through the stories because I'm accumulating them and I'm going to publish a book for you.'"

There are so many more good fish stories. Dick and Jackie are thinking about a sequel.

Dick Wilson is a firm believer in the power of fishing to bring people together and keep families string.

"There is a lot of companionship with friends and family," said Wilson.
