GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Fred Bradley, 77, never imagined his home of nearly 50 years would end up being the set of a movie much less having actor Burt Reynolds play in a scene at his house.

"I looked out the front window and there was a lady taking pictures of my house her name was Remi and she said, 'We're gonna film a movie here on the coast and we love this house. We love this front porch. Would you mind if we use it in this film?' And I said, no, I don't have any objections," Bradley said.

The film's producer Barry Rosen says Bradley's home was chosen about a month ago because it fit with the movie character.

"The character is somebody that has lived down here his whole life, who worked hard. Who's a working class person. This is all he had. He raised his family. They moved out and this is his thing," Rosen said.

Rosen said Bradley and Reynolds' character are also a lot alike. Like Bradley the movie character refuses to leave his home despite the threat of a hurricane.

"The person, who lives in the house kinda told us a similar story. Where he built this house and he's a mason and he stood with his house," Rosen added.

Bradley rode out Hurricane's Camille and Katrina in his home. He says he didn't allow the lights and cameras inside for fame or fortune, instead he did it for history.

"I did it for the kids so they'd have something to look at on down the road. When they get a little older," Bradley said about his grandchildren.

So for next two days Bradley will be spending his afternoons at his daughter's house down the road while filmmakers work on putting his home on the big screen.

Bradley was able to meet Reynolds and take pictures with him. Reynolds left the set before WLOX arrived.
