SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) - Two suspects were arrested Friday in connection to a stolen black Ford F-250, according to Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara.
Brisolara said the sheriff's department received several complaints of suspicious activity regarding that truck, which was seen in the area of Canal Road in Gulfport south of I-10.
Harrison County deputies found the truck traveling on Canal Road and ran the truck's license plate number. That number revealed the truck was reported stolen earlier that day from Saucier.
That's when deputies attempted to stop the truck driven by 34-year-old Jason Eugene Conaway of 100 block of Carson Drive in Gulfport. Brisolara said Conaway fled by using a dirt road near the railroad tracks on Canal Road. Later deputy John Johnson saw the truck leaving a wooded area.
Johnson was able to stop the truck. Brisolara said 26-year-old Miranda Lynn Johnson of the 23000 block of New Hope Lane in Saucier was a passenger in the vehicle. An investigation revealed the truck was also reported stolen by Picayune Police on Thursday, June 13.
Johnson and Conaway were booked at the Harrison County Adult Detention and faces charges of felony possession of stolen property. Judge Melvin Ray set Johnson's bond at $30,000 pending her court appearance.
Conaway is being held without bond with a hold placed on him for the alleged theft of the truck through Picayune police. There was also a warrant issued for Conaway by the Mississippi Department of Corrections due to him being on probation for previous charges, according to Brisolara.
