GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - After a few setbacks, the Harrison County Library System confirmed the new Orange Grove Library in Gulfport will open Monday. According to head librarian Celia Barrett, the library will open at 9 a.m.
The library will be stocked with $1 million in books, furniture and materials.
A few factors kept the library from opening last year including waiting on FEMA money, fixing a leak in the building and the closure of a bridge on Old Highway 49.
The library staff knows the public is ready for the new library. And once it opens, they said people won't be disappointed in the building and its five acres of landscaping.
The new library hours will be Mon.-Thurs. 9am-6pm, Fri. 9am-3pm and Sat. 10am-2pm.
