GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

A Moss Point woman is accused of murdering her husband Saturday night after running over him in the area of River Bend Apartments in Gautier, according to officials.

According to Gautier police Captain Jerry Cooksey, around 8 p.m. Krystal Kersey, 25, ran over her husband Justin Gary Stork, 24, of Pascagoula with a blue Toyota Celica.

Cooksey said Stork was partially underneath the car and partially hanging onto the front of it when she hit him. The suspect eventually crashed her car into a tree with Stork still hanging on. Cooksey said Stork didn't stop. Witnesses said Kersey fled the area after hitting the tree.

Stork was found dead in a grassy area at the apartment complex upon arrival of authorities.

Hours later, Kersey turned herself into Gautier police.

Kersey was transported to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. Her initial appearance is Monday at Gautier Municipal courthouse at 1 p.m.
