Fighters from all over the country box in Biloxi tonight

Tonight more than a dozen fighters will compete in eight boxing matches at the Biloxi Civic Center.

Event coordinator and owner of Right Hook Productions William Hunter says he expects a big crowd at the fights.

"It's such a big fight because boxing hasn't been in Biloxi in years. So I brought people from across the nation. We're trying to bring boxing back to Biloxi and right here. This is it," Hunter said.

He says the nationally recognized fighters are expected to wow the crowds.

"Tonight we've got Javonta Charles, the number one ranked amateur in the U.S. at 201 pounds. We've got the Watson twins, brothers. They're right behind me. Between the two they have won over 300 amateur fights," Hunter said. "I mean they're game. Read to go. We got Mike Bissett which is actually from Biloxi."

Bissett, who is nicknamed "Concrete" for his powerful punches, fought an Olympian Dominic Breazeale on HBO last November.

The 28-year-old, Biloxi native began fighting in 2005. Tonight he fights Mike Reiter from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

"I'm well trained with a good amateur career. I'm in great shape and ready to let my hands go and finish the show," Bissett said.

Bissett says his fans consider him an exciting fighter.

"I've been told I hit really hard. I've got a killer instinct and I go for the knock out every time," Bissett added.
