BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Fire destroyed a home in Brandon overnight Thursday.

When our cameras arrived just after midnight, firefighters were just beginning to battle the blaze at 102 Mary Myles Drive. The house is at the corner of Mary Myles and Luckney Road. A woman and her 16-year-old daughter lived there.

Emergency crews were worried last night that the teenager was inside the home, but Brandon Fire Chef Rob Martin learned Friday that no one was home.

The house is a complete loss. Chief Martin says the blaze started in a heating and air conditioning unit.
