JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson 11-year-old, who was missing for nearly a week, has been found safe.

Trevon Sojourner's mother, Evelyn SoJourner, says a church member saw fliers with Trevon's picture and recognized him.

The family picked him up at a house off McDowell Road on Teresa Drive Sunday. Evelyn SoJourner said the 11-year-old was with a family who said they didn't know Trevon's family had been searching for him or that he'd been missing.

Trevon went missing from the Summer Park Apartments on Chadwick Drive in south Jackson Tuesday around 3 p.m.

Evelyn Sojourner said Trevon had asked to go to the pool at the apartment complex, but she said no because his brother wasn't going to be there to supervise.

"When he walked out the door, I could see his face and he was angry," said Sojourner.

Trevon's sister went outside to see if he was heading toward the pool, and she saw him running out of sight.

Trevon's mother and siblings searched the whole apartment complex and surrounding area, including the nearby Walmart and other stores, but there was no sign of the 11-year-old.
