4pm Update-Tropical Storm Andrea making landfall in Florida

In its 4pm advisory, the National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Andrea is about to make landfall over the Florida Big Bend. Rain and wind will continue to spread northward along the southeast throughout the night and into Friday.

Most areas in Florida affected by Andrea could see three to six inches of rain. A storm surge of 2-5 feet is also expected. Sustained winds are at 65 mph.

For South Mississippi, it looks like we will have rough seas offshore courtesy of Andrea. In fact, a Small Craft Advisory is in effect in the offshore waters until 7pm.

As a frontal boundary approaches South Mississippi, expected scattered showers and thunderstorms to pop up, especially in the later afternoon hours. Rain chances will decrease as we head into the weekend.
