Broomfield wins Moss Point mayor's race

MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

Mississippi State Representative Billy Broomfield (D) is Moss Point's new mayor. He was elected Tuesday night defeating opponents Dobbs Dennis (I) and John Moseley Jr. (I) with 68 percent of the vote.

Broomfield, whose a former legislator in House district 110, also worked more than three decades at Ingalls Shipbuilding as a project manager.

With the relationships he's garnered in the legislature Broomfield says he hopes to bring economic development to the City of Moss Point. He beat incumbent mayor Aneice Liddell in the primaries.
