GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Gulfport Police say an argument between two men started over an ex-girlfriend. According to Gulfport Police Lt. Phillip Kincaid, 23-year-old Aldarius Aundrey Hardy was arrested May 31 and faces a charge of aggravated assault.
That charge stems after Hardy allegedly shot at the victim three times as the victim ran away.
Kincaid says the victim claimed Hardy was angry that he was dating Hardy's ex-girlfriend.
The two men argued and that's when Hardy reportedly shot at the victim at the 9000 block of Cuandet Road in Gulfport.
Witnesses contacted police after shots were fired, but when police arrived on the scene they were unable to find the source of the disturbance, said Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania.
The next day the victim went to the Gulfport Police Department and told police he was involved in an altercation with Hardy, according to Papania. Following an investigation, Hardy was positively identified as the suspect, Papania said.
Eleven days after the incident, Hardy turned himself in and was arrested. He's being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
