Mississippi State takes care of business taking out Central Arkansas 6-1

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Mississippi State took advantage of three errors to defeat Central Arkansas 6-1 Monday to win the NCAA Starkville Regional.

Head coach John Cohen relied on pitcher Chad Girodo in relief. The senior responded by pitching 6 2/3 innings and tossed a career-high 12 strikeouts.

Central Arkansas (42-22) had their bats silenced by the Bulldogs belting only six hits with 17 strikeouts.

Hunter Renfroe had three hits and two RBIs to help Mississippi State advance to the super regional round for the second time in three seasons.  The Bulldogs (46-18) travel to Virginia.
