PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) -

A man accused of assault has turned himself into Pascagoula police Monday afternoon.

According to Pascagoula Police Sgt. Calvin Hutchins, Swadrian C. Johnson, 25, of Moss Point and Damiene Williams, 20, of Moss Point were involved in a fight.

Johnson reportedly had a handgun and fired a single shot towards Williams at Victor Street in Pascagoula. Johnson then turned that gun around and allegedly hit Williams across the head using the butt of the gun.

Hutchins said Williams refused medical attention and no one else was injured from the gun being discharged.

Johnson is charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits, simple-assault with a weapon and a probation and parole violation. He is currently being held at the City of Pascagoula Municipal Jail awaiting a custody transfer to Mississippi Department of Correction.

Detectives with the Pascagoula Police Department are investigating this incident.
