GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Two weeks ago the Humane Society of South Mississippi (HSSM) assisted in a rescuing more than 100 dogs from a puppymill in Tylertown. Today the HSSM wants you to give them a permanent home by adopting those dogs.

Primarily pure-bred Yorkies, Boston Terriers, Chihuahuas, and Dachshunds, the dogs are between the ages of 8 months to 8-years-old.

The adoption fee is $150, which includes more than just the dog. It consists of the dog spayed or neutered, microchiped and an ID tag, 30 days pet health insurance, a free vet visit within 7 days, heartworm tests for all dogs over 6 months, starter bag of Hill's Science Diet Food and 10 percent off in the HSSM's Bow Wow Meow boutique.

All adoptions are first come first serve.

The HSSM opens today at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. HSSM is located at the corner of Hwy 49 and 27th Street, just one block north of Pass Road in Gulfport.
