CLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Clinton Police have charged Emily Allison, the mother involved in a domestic violence case on Memorial Day, with misdemeanor drug possession, child neglect and domestic violence. The domestic violence charge stems from another family issue and not the incident at the Clinton Inn.

On Monday, May 27, Clinton Police were called to the hotel around 4 a.m. for a domestic disturbance. The father, 28-year-old John Paul Rando, was originally charged with disorderly conduct and domestic violence. A child abuse charge was pending because Allison said Rando took the child, who was strapped in a car seat, and banged the seat against the wall.

Police later dropped all but the disorderly conduct charge because they found no evidence that the baby was harmed or abused.

Allison, who is 22-years-old, is free on bond.
