Police investigate pedestrian hit and run

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A pedestrian was hit Sunday evening in south Jackson, and now police are searching for the driver who left the scene.

The unidentified woman was struck around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of Raymond Road. Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department said the victim was in front of Fred's Dollar Store.

The victim appeared to have at least suffered a leg injury. Investigators said her injuries are not life threatening.

People at the scene said the vehicle involved was a charcoal gray Kia or Sonata with a broken driver's side mirror and a missing rear windshield covered with plastic.
