South Mississippi All-Star Basketball Showdown will honor Brandon Rich

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The South Mississippi All-Star Basketball Showcase is the brainchild of Biloxi head coach Seber Windham and St. Martin head coach Charlie Pavlus.

The players were divided into east and west rosters. The senior girls game will tip-off Monday night at 6 followed by the senior boys at 7:30.

This year's showcase is being dedicated to Brandon Rich, who tragically lost his life in a skiing accident.

Charlie Pavlus said, "Brandon was a two-time All-Star nominee. He played last year and was fortunate enough to coach him."

He added, "At the beginning of the game we're going to do something special for him during the boys game and we're going to take donations throughout both nights, the senior and underclassmen games to try to help the family out with any costs that occurred with the recent tragedy."

On Tuesday, the underclassmen girls tip-off play at 6 followed by the underclassmen boys at 7:30 at Biloxi High.

St. Martin's 6-3 senior to be Ed Simpson, will be playing. He averaged 21 points and 5 rebounds per game this past season and has received scholarship offers from Boston University and Middle Tennessee State.

George County's senior to be Keith Moore displayed his long range shooting ability in practice on Thursday. He can shoots the lights out of the gym... from NBA range.
