More Boyd Elementary sexual assault allegations

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Thursday we first told you about two parents of Boyd Elementary school students, who say their children were sexually assaulted by another student. The parents were furious that no action had been taken on their cases. Today more parents are speaking out about their children also falling victims.

Kimberly Davenport says her daughter was sexually assaulted in the same way by the same Boyd Elementary 5th grader.

"She stuck her hands in her pants and wiped it on my daughter," said Davenport.

Davenport says she never talked to school officials, but her daughter did report the incident to her teacher. Her and two other parents say school officials have taken no action to resolve the assaults, and the 11 Year Old girl who committed them is still in school.

"Once she told her teacher she thought her teacher was going to resolve the situation, so my mother never got a call. She thought it was over with and it happened again, Davenport added. "It's very upsetting because if she can do it to mine, she can do it to 2,3,4 other children you know what I'm saying. If you can't resolve the situation there's no need for her to be in school."

Davenport says she and other parents who attended awards day were stunned when they say the alleged perpetrator receive numerous awards from school officials, while their cases seemed to get no attention.

"The kids that did work hard are the ones that needed to do what they had to do instead of awarding them they awarded her," said Davenport. "It seems like they gave her a tap on the shoulder and told her go you good."

The Jackson Public Schools office of campus enforcement would only release a statement saying they are conducting and investigation into the alleged sexual activity.
