A Pascagoula man is credited with breaking the state record for Spotted Seatrout, according to the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (DMR).

DMR officials say David Floyd broke the state record for Spotted Seatrout with a 10 pound, 10 ounce fish on April 8.

Another record breaker was Mark Alan Ros Jr. of Ocean Springs. He caught an Atlantic Spadefish with an 8 pound, 3.2 ounce fish on April 19.

The Mississippi Commission of Marine Resources (MCMR) certified the two Mississippi recreational saltwater conventional tackle records on May 21.
