12-year-old accused of shooting younger brother

BAKER, LA (WAFB) -

Investigators said a 12-year-old boy faces charges after accidentally shooting his 8-year-old brother Saturday.

It happened inside a home in the 400 block of Old Rafe Meyer Road near Baker.

The victim was shot in the shoulder and the injury is not considered life-threatening.

The 12-year-old found his grandfather's gun in a closet and accidentally fired it, according to EBRSO spokesperson Casey Rayborn Hicks.

The boy was taken to juvenile detention and charged with one count of negligent injuring.

Names will not be released, as both boys are juveniles.

    The scene was horrific: A Cessna 172 plane torn apart, pieces melted. Trees smashed from the impact.  And in the middle of it all was the body of the male pilot burned beyond recognition.

    The Gautier Police Department arrested two males Friday morning for Auto Burglary charges.  Police say two officers were called to Springridge Road at 4:37 am on a report of Auto Burglary.
