MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - The search for a missing man on the Escatawpa River has shifted from a rescue operation, to a recovery operation. Divers were still in the water late Friday night, and the search for Timothy Gordon, Sr. will likely continue overnight until he is found.
Friday evening around 5:30, Gordon and another man, Curtis Coleman, were fishing near the highrise bridge at Highway 613. As they moved through the water, their small boat hit something and threw the two men into the water. Coleman managed to make it out of the water after being picked up by another passing boat.
Maritime patrol and the Coast Guard both had boats and search crews in the water searching the area. Cadaver dogs are also assisting with recovery efforts.
