5 Cars, 5 Winners selected

Five people were selected as winners of new Lexus vehicles Thursday as part of the annual Driving the Future campaign.

Money raised from the $50 raffle tickets will benefit the Children's Hospital at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

The five winners will appear live on WAFB 9NEWS This Morning next Monday to select their vehicles.   The first name drawn Thursday will be given the first pick with the second, third, and fourth place winners then making their selections in the order drawn.  The fifth person will then receive the remaining vehicle.

Two of the winners are employees of Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.  Hospital employees were allowed to have a payroll deduction over several pay periods to eventually pay for their $50 ticket.

Organizers did not immediately release a total amount of money raised but said it was a record year.   This marked the third consecutive year of the contest.

Here's a list of the winners in the order they were drawn:

1)  VELMA MCCRAY, BATON ROUGE
2)  TERRI JAMEYSON, BATON ROUGE
3)  LAURIE AYDELL, BATON ROUGE
4)  MARKEITHA WALKER, OLOL EMPLOYEE
5)  RACHEL AUSTIN, OLOL EMPLOYEE
