JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Public School officials say police responded to a fight between students on the campus of Forest Hill High School Thursday afternoon.

Multiple Jackson police officers responded to the school around 4 p.m. At least nine patrol cars were at the school at one point. The scene appears to be under control.

According to JPS officials, campus enforcement is in charge of security at the school. A JPS spokesman says he believes Jackson police were in the area and heard about the incident on their police radios. JPD offered their assistance to campus enforcement until the situation was under control. There were no injuries or arrests as a result of the fight, according to JPS.

Students on the scene say there were fights inside and outside the school building this afternoon. The students referred to it as a "gang fight."

Many of the students are now waiting on school buses and cars to pick them up.
