DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) - The ACLU wants Diamondhead's property owners association to ease up on its campaigning restrictions. Those covenants prevent homeowners from putting political signs in their yards. And they don't allow candidates to campaign door to door.
The ACLU claims the restrictions violate the first amendment. And that group wants the covenants lifted until after the June 4th election.
The ACLU has given the Diamondhead property owners association until Thursday to respond to the request.
