GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

The suspect in the May 5 armed robbery at a George County truck stop was arrested Tuesday, according to George County Sheriff Dean Howell.

Howell said, the suspect is 25-year-old John Anthony Walker of George County. He was arrested at a trailer park off Highway 98 east in George County.

Walker is accused of entering 4-Mile Truck Stop with a semi-automatic weapon. He then allegedly demanded the clerk hand him money. Walker reportedly took $1,200 and fled the store on foot.

Witnesses and the clerk were able to provide a description of Walker. He was also caught on surveillance video, Howell said.

Walker was arrested and charged with armed robbery, possession of a controlled substance (spice), and possession of paraphernalia.

Howell said numerous tips through Crimestoppers and to the George County Sheriff's Department helped deputies locate Walker. He is currently in George County Regional Jail awaiting initial court appearance.

If you have any information regarding this robbery or any other crime contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898. All tips are completely anonymous.
