Editorial: Amanda, Gina and Michelle come home

Posted: Updated:
(WOIO) -

This community's collective shock over the recent events on Seymour Avenue is only beginning to wear off.  Over the course of a week, we've gone from disbelief to celebration to reflection.

We welcomed home Gina, Amanda and Michelle. Scorned the monster who held them captive and praised the heroes that helped make their escape possible.

Now it's time to move forward. Time for the three women to re-acquaint themselves with friends and family and rebuild the lives shattered by their barbarian captor.

As for the rest of us, we owe it to the victims to find out what more, if anything, could have been done to find them sooner. Were clues missed or tips ignored?

We all love happy endings. But as we bask in the exuberance of Gina, Amanda and Michelle's return, let's also not forget hundreds of others -someone's wife or mother, sister or brother, who are still reported missing in Ohio.

Write and let me know what you think.
