GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport police said 24-year-old Nelson Easley Walker of Gulfport was involved in a robbery at a gas station Tuesday morning.

According to Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania, the incident happened at the Chevron gas station located at 9240 Highway 49.

Walker allegedly entered the store and threatened the clerk as if he had a weapon, Papania said.

Papania said, Walker then took money from the register. Once police arrived at the gas station, they reportedly saw Walker fleeing the store.

Walker was later arrested in the area of Holly Circle just west of the gas station.

The suspect was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility. Judge Louise Ladner set Walker's bond at $200,000.
