Jury selection scheduled for man who authorities chased into lake

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Monday, jury selection was scheduled to begin for an East Texas man who lead authorities on a chase that ended in a lake.

Twenty-two-year-old William Andrew Wilson was jailed in July on aggravated assault against a public servant charges.

Smith County authorities say, Wilson was pulled over for driving with an expired registration near Coffee City. Authorities say when they pulled him over, Wilson fled on foot with a weapon and jumped into Lake Palestine. They jumped in the water after him and took him into custody after a short struggle.
