PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Police are looking for a suspect who stole a vehicle and then a ring from a Phoenix jewelry story.

Police said the suspect stole a silver 2008 Chevy Impala, with keys in the ignition, from the Courtesy Chevrolet parking lot at 1233 E. Camelback Road on March 13, and drove it to the Kierland Commons at 15034 N. Scottsdale Rd.  He went to several jewelry stores saying he was "price shopping" while looking at rings. The man was allowed to handle a ring and once he had it, he ran out of the store and fled in the stolen vehicle.

Police said he was driving erratically and nearly hit another vehicle.

The suspect is described as a 50- to 55-year-old black man believed to be 6'2'' to 6'4'' tall and weighing 230 to 240 pounds.
