HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A former coast DJ, Bob Dever, 51, was sentenced Thursday morning to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of Exploitation of a Child.

The case came to the attention of authorities in May of 2012 when the Biloxi Public Works Department discovered written messages in the boy's bathroom at the Hiller Park Softball complex.

Biloxi Police investigated and found child pornography was downloaded and shared at an IP address assigned to Dever. After obtaining a search warrant, investigators seized a laptop computer and other hard drives from Dever's home.

"A forensic examination of the computers revealed over 200 files containing child pornography images and videos. In addition, investigators were able to retrieve actual chat room discussions where Dever actively engaged in receiving and transferring images of child pornography," said Assistant DA Crosby Parker, who prosecuted the case.

"There is no excuse for the exploitation of children and we will continue to make it a priority to prosecute those who commit these predatory crimes. I am extremely proud of the investigators and grateful to the city employees who called attention to the writings at Hiller Park. These employees did not sit idly by but instead did their part to ensure justice was served in their community," said District Attorney Joel Smith.

Given the nature of the crimes, the 30 year sentence will be served day for day without the eligibility for parole.
