SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Hipsters across our region are going to be on the coast for one or several of these events.

Zydeco, Country, Swamp Pop, and Blues bands will be playing in the two day Swamp Boogie Blues Festival. Centered at the Hancock County Multi-purpose Arena in the Kiln the festival includes food and arts and crafts vendors. While you're shaking it on the big dance floor children can keep themselves active with face painting and space walking.

Here's a three day music festival that's considered pet friendly, family friendly, carbon-foot friendly and even better, pocket book friendly. Just how friendly is it to your pocket book? Tickets are only a penny. Happening in the Ocean Springs' charming downtown area the music genres in this year's Mayfest are a hodgepodge of Jazz, Blues, Americana, Latin and more. In addition to the music there's arts and crafts booths and plenty for hungry festival goers to chow down on. Plus on Friday the Mayfest festival features a 5k run.
