Hipsters across our region are going to be on the coast for one or several of these events.

Zydeco, Country, Swamp Pop, and Blues bands will be playing in the two day Swamp Boogie Blues Festival. Centered at the Hancock County Multi-purpose Arena in the Kiln the festival includes food and arts and crafts vendors. While you're shaking it on the big dance floor children can keep themselves active with face painting and space walking.

That festival that has us inevitably unleashing our inner music aficionado kicks off Friday. It's the  Gulfport Music Festival. Some of the hottest artists in this year's lineup include: One Republic, Wiz Khalifa and Awolnation. There's also Shinedown, Smashing Pumpkins and local bands like Kaboom and Rosco Bandana.

Here's a three day music festival that's considered pet friendly, family friendly, carbon-foot friendly and even better, pocket book friendly. Just how friendly is it to your pocket book? Tickets are only a penny. Happening in the Ocean Springs' charming downtown area the music genres in this year's Mayfest are a hodgepodge of Jazz, Blues, Americana, Latin and more. In addition to the music there's arts and crafts booths and plenty for hungry festival goers to chow down on. Plus on Friday the Mayfest festival features a 5k run.

Pascagoula's very own Live Oak Arts Festival is back again and they're back with some awesome food and vendors. They've got one of a kind bird houses, custom wreaths, bows, painted wine glasses featuring college mascots and garden decor. Plus local artists and photographers will be selling their works. While you're scooping the festival grounds you'll listen to an array of entertainers performing live.

The Wild West comes alive in Vancleave when cowboys and cowgirls compete in the The Jackson County Sheriff's Department's 12th Annual Rodeo. From calf roping, steer wrestling, to bull riding, your eyes aren't going to want to miss this. Proceeds from the rodeo are going to Jackson County Sheriff's reserves and mounted patrol division.

Bring your daughter, sister, mother or friend for heart to heart talks about the realities of life during the 6th Annual Saving Our Sisters Summit at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. This event features workshops, entertainment, and plenty of inspiration. Girls and women ages 10 and up are encouraged to attend.

See what unique items you can find at Bel-Aire Baptist Church. They're holding a rummage sale Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until noon. All proceeds will go towards the church's mission trips. The church is located at 15080 Dedeaux Road.
