There's good news to report this week on the Mississippi Gulf Coast economy. Gulf Coast Business Council research shows growing confidence. 85% of company owners and CEOs plan to either maintain current staffing levels or hire additional workers.
The confidence in the Gulf Coast economy is being characterized as "improving moderately" with optimism. This growing confidence comes in spite of concern for the cost of doing business along the coast and pending flood insurance changes. We are encouraged as we see improvement in sales tax collections, residential real estate sales and establishment jobs.
These economic indicators suggest the Gulf Coast economic recovery from recession is well underway. We applaud coast business owners and CEOs as they recognize this positive movement and add new jobs to the Mississippi coast economy.
