11-year-old boy escapes alleged Clarksville attempted kidnapping

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Clarksville police are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping Wednesday afternoon in the area of Paradise Hill Road and Hietts Lane.

An 11-year-old boy reported that an unknown man jumped out from some bushes and tried to pull the boy into a nearby minivan.

The boy managed to escape after striking the man in the head with a stick, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, with red hair cut into a flat-top style haircut and freckles on his face.

The suspect was wearing a black sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and Nike tennis shoes. He may also have a dragon tattoo on his arm, police said.

The suspect's vehicle is described as a beat-up green minivan with a pointed front and hatchback-style rear with a lift gate back door.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or suspect is asked to call 911. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS.
