PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A cement truck rollover forced an hours-long closure of northbound State Route 51 at the Cactus Road exit.

The crash happened about 11:30 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The driver of the fully-loaded truck lost control of his vehicle following a tire blowout, said Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves.

The vehicle overturned on the northbound lanes north of Cactus and spilled its cargo into the southbound lanes, Graves said. It also struck the center wall.

Northbound traffic had to be routed off SR 51 at the Cactus exit, said Tom Herrmann of the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Herrmann said the HOV and left lanes were closed because of debris from the crash.

No other information was immediately available.
