JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

In Jackson voters got another chance to hear from some mayoral candidates Sunday.

Two candidates and one representative attended what organizers called the "Final Mayoral Forum" Sunday afternoon at the Word Center.

Dr. Kentrella Ladell sat in for Councilman Frank Bluntson, businessman Jonathan Lee and Councilman Chokwe Lumumba participated.

The Democratic candidates were asked questions by residents through email, Facebook, and Twitter. Infrastructure problems, crime, department heads living in the city and the lack of businesses were some of the issues raised by voters. What are voters looking for in a mayor?

"We always have to go on the outskirts in another county or another suburb, and I'm a city girl. I like the city. I love the history here and I want industry to come back to Jackson. I want it to be urbanized a nice city," said Lawanda Harris of Jackson.

Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson, and Attorney Regina Quinn did not attend and cited prior commitments.

WLBT's Katina Rankin served as one of the forum's moderators.
