FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -

Authorities are looking for a man accused of attacking a woman on an evening jog along a Flagstaff trail.

Flagstaff police Sgt. James Jackson said the woman was at Izabel Street and Sixth Avenue when the suspect came up behind her and assaulted her. The victim began screaming and the suspect released her and ran on the trail which continues northwest to the top of McMillian Mesa and north to Buffalo Park.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Native American male, approximately 5'10'' to 6' and 20 to 25 years old. He has short, black, spiked hair and was last seen wearing a white, short-sleeve shirt with long, black, athletic shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Flagstaff Police Department or contact Silent Witness at coconinosilentwitness.org.

Police say they plan to increase police presence on the Urban Trails.
