Sex offender arrested on drug charge in retirement community

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A three-time convicted felon and registered sex offender is back in police custody.

Acting on a tip, Jackson narcotics agents went to the Lefleur Haven retirement community on Briarwood Drive Friday afternoon.

Once there, they arrested 47-year-old Eugene Collier for possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a church.

Authorities also seized $1,400.

According to law enforcement, Collier was living at the retirement home with a relative and had registered at the address.
