GREENE COUNTY, MS (WDAM/WLOX) - Stringfellow Road is disappearing, and officials in Greene County are blaming it on Mother Nature.
All the recent rain appears to have caused a massive washout that's still growing. County officials aren't sure what's causing the collapse, but said it's not a sinkhole.
It's the second time in less than a year that the road has collapsed due to a wash.
Greene County District 4 Supervisor Wayne Borrow and Emergency Management Director Trent Robertson are working with other agencies to pinpoint the source of the problem. until they get some answers, the entire road is closed.
