Weekend Whereabouts: May 3-5

Different and amazing. That's the best way to describe what's going on across South Mississippi this weekend.

D'Iberville Crawfish Festival

Sometimes it seems you can never eat enough crawfish. The D'Iberville Crawfish festival understands that. That's why there not only offering crawfish there also adding a slew of children's rides and live music. It all takes place west of I-110 next to the Suburban Extended Hotel in D'Iberville.  There's bounce houses, a variety of food and craft vendors. "Hanover Drive" Christian rock band will be there along with hip hop artist Young Canon. Crawfish will be served in platters. All proceeds benefit youth athletic leagues in D'Iberville.

2nd Annual Rockin' the Dock

This event has business and fun in mind. The Gulfport Chamber of Commerce invites you to the Dock Bar and Grill for the 2nd Annual Rockin' The Dock. Proceeds from this event benefit small business and education grants in Gulfport. It's somewhat of a mini-music festival featuring, Motown funk, 80s , 90s and country music. Entertainers include: Lisa Lee Albritton with band Soulshine of Picayune, SweetRoot of Baton Rouge and Pass Christian band Starz. There will be a raffle and drawing including a getaway to Gatlinburg and a weekend stay at the IP.  Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

BINGO night benefit  

Here's a game that's simple and helps Long Beach's Reeve's Elementary. Families will loveBINGO night with prizes at Thomas Reeves Elementary School. Prizes include a $100 spa gift certificate to Kelinci (Cal-in-see), two hour pool party at the energy club, candy basket and various other gift cards. It's $1 dollar per card and lasts for three games. Snacks will be on sale.

Cinco de Crawfish Grand pool party

The pool at the Grand Casino in Biloxi is holding the Cinco de Crawfish pool party. Join others for great music, fun contests, exciting giveaways, and awesome food at the Grand pool deck. Three pound crawfish platters are $15 and $5 for each additional pound.  They'll have margarita and beer bucket specials as well.
