American Red Cross mobile apps can help in a crisis

Posted: Updated:

People are increasingly reliant on mobile devices as a lifeline for emergency information and connecting with loved ones after a disaster.

A recent Red Cross survey shows that apps are tied with social media as the fourth most popular way to get information during emergencies. Nearly one-fifth of Americans say they have received emergency information from an app.

All Red Cross mobile apps are free and available on iPhone, iPad and Android platforms for both smart phones and tablets. Red Cross apps can be found in the Apple Store and the Google Play Store for Android by searching "American Red Cross" or by logging onto redcross.org/mobileapps.

People can view Red Cross apps in either English or Spanish, depending upon the user's language and settings on their device.
