Covington County child run over, killed in front yard

COVINGTON COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A 2-year-old Collins toddler was killed over the weekend when he was run over by a vehicle in the front yard of his home.

Authorities said a group of people were at the house Saturday on Thoms Lane, and several were in the process of moving their vehicles so the owner could mow the yard when the child was struck.

Investigators with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations has been interviewing people at the house to determine what happened.

Meanwhile, the body has been taken to Jackson for an autopsy.
