Authorities said a tip to Crime Stoppers helped federal marshals track down a man accused of trying to kill two people during a violent robbery attempt.

The St. Gabriel Police Department reported Wardell Anderson, 35, of Baton Rouge was captured in Shreveport on Sunday.

According to police, Anderson walked up to the clerk at St. Gabriel Grocery in February, handed over a bag and note and held up a gun. Police said the gun clip then fell out.

They added two other suspects were arrested prior to Anderson being located.

Anderson is charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and attempted armed robbery.
